Mission Statement
Socorro: Legal Services for Immigrant Women and Children is a Colorado 501 (c)(3) service organization dedicated to assisting immigrant women and children by providing direct legal representation, advocacy, education, and research.  In particular, Socorro seeks justice for victims of abuse, abandonment, persecution, and human trafficking.

Introduction
Socorro: Legal Services for Immigrant Women and Children is only one of a few non-profit organizations nationwide dedicated to helping immigrant women and children, two of the most vulnerable and underserved segments of American society.

Socorro aims to enable immigrant women and children who are victims of violence, abuse or abandonment, persecution, or human trafficking, to secure rights and legal protection.  The four main services of Socorro include, but are not limited to: 
· legal representation;
· education;
· outreach and advocacy; and
· research.
This organization focuses on assisting victims of abuse and persecution using federal laws: Violence Against Women's Act, Asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and T-Visas.
